Parenting and caregiving are roles that come with great responsibility, endless love, and sometimes even moments of doubt. In those times of need, a good book can be a source of empowerment, guidance, and inspiration.

Today, we’re honored to introduce you to our heartfelt new book, The Courageous Heart. Created by Delia Arhiri, Malia Brown, and Heidi Zin, this touching story was lovingly crafted to uplift, support, and empower children of all ages as they grow, learn, and navigate life’s many paths.
At its core, The Courageous Heart is a story written by humans, for humans—because we believe that the best stories come from the heart. Inspired by a real-life moment of wonder, young Kai’s journey began when Malia, out kayaking one quiet afternoon, spotted a green grasshopper floating in the water. Though it appeared lifeless, something in her heart twinkled—she couldn’t bear to leave it behind. She gently scooped it up, and thirty minutes later, one antenna twitched, then the other…and soon the little grasshopper stood tall again.
That simple act of kindness became the seed for this story: a tale of hope, courage, and the quiet power of believing in life, even when all seems lost.
We’ll be sharing The Courageous Heart at events throughout the year, beginning with the San Diego Writers Festival in April 2025. Connecting with families, educators, and book-lovers who believe in the magic of storytelling fills us with joy.
With its warm illustrations and timeless message, The Courageous Heart speaks to children and the grown-ups who guide them. It’s a gentle light, reminding us all that courage, love, and second chances are always within reach.
We hope this story finds its way into many hands—and many hearts.
“I’ve been coaching in one way or another for over 25 years, and here’s what I know for sure: people bloom best when they’re loved just as they are—no fixing, no fuss. I’ve seen it again and again, and honestly, I never get tired of it. I love people. I love watching them light up. It’s like magic…but real. That spirit is at the heart of this book—and I hope it brings a little joy, a little courage, and maybe even a giggle or two to your day.”
